Women Artists from the 1930s
From the Collection of the American Hungarian Library and Historical Society
Originally the work displayed here was exhibited at the "International Women Painters, Sculptors, Gravers" Show at the Riverside Museum in New York, October 17. 1939 to January 14, 1940.
The paintings and other works were confiscated by the U.S. Government after Hungary declared war on the Unites States in 1941 and placed under Office of Alien Property Custodian.
The American Hungarian Library and Historical Society acquired the works from the U.S. Office of Alien Property Custodian.
